For the child who has suffered severe abuse,
or has been neglected to an extreme degree,
or who may suffer from a predisposing condition that makes it more difficult for him or her to cope with life then it is for the average child.
good hearted common sense is not enough.
With such children, even experienced and well meaning foster parents are not able to meet their needs, yet

SEPARATION FROM THE COMMUNITY IS NOT THE ANSWER.

Even though they may behave in ways that lead to rejection such children need to be wanted and included in their community.
We offer a nurturing alternative to restrictive residential placement
We have the skills and the know-how for helping children who need to belong.

Children's Services is a child-centered program. It is dedicated to the task of helping the unique and beautiful child within to emerge from the devastation wreaked by adverse environmental circumstances and/or constitutional vulnerabilities. Through an ongoing process of formulating and modifying an individual plan of treatment, rehabilitation, and education, the Children's Services program is built around the needs of each individual child and family.

Because Children's Service's organizes its programs into a series of levels, it is possible to make the provision of specialized individual interventions for children with greater needs.

The term "Integrated Treatment Strategies™" refers to the total treatment approach used by Children's Services to implement its fundamental philosophical and value commitments. This approach emphasizes the need for flexible programming that integrates a comprehensive assessment of the child with a wide diversity of interventions.

CHCS provides a community based continuum of residential treatment and rehabilitative options for children in need of intensive help with emotional and behavioral problems and their families. The residential program is housed in a network of treatment foster homes, group homes, and residential assessment homes integrated into local neighborhoods. The full range of treatment services is also available to children in their natural or adoptive homes.
