Diagnostic Services
Diagnostic services include psychiatric, psychological, psychosocial and behavioral assessments. Children's Services uses a multidisciplinary team to insure a comprehensive understanding of the child's functioning in every sphere of his or her life from the physical to the social. Children's Services employs an ecological approach to diagnosis that integrates clinical assessments with the child's environment. Diagnosis is an ongoing process throughout the child's stay in the program. This enables the treatment plan and the treatment intervention to evolve with the growth of the child.
Rehabilitation Services
Rehabilitation services provide trained on-line staff to work with clients in community settings. These services focus on the unique needs of each child. This may include activities of daily living, social and emotional development, community integration, and gross and fine motor skills. The rehabilitation worker functions as an integral part of the child's primary treatment team. Both the selection of the activities, and the manner in which they are handled are guided by the treatment aims that have been developed for the child.
Therapeutic Services
Through individual and play therapy the therapists provide the opportunity for identifying and working with inner conflicts, fears and the effects of severe trauma. Family and group therapy assists the child in learning more successful social functioning. Consultation with foster parents, psycho-social rehabilitation staff, and with other professionals aims at the creation of a total milieu that is truly therapeutic.
Educational Services
Often the critical factor in enabling a child to remain in a community based program is the child's ability to be successful in school. For this reason, Children's Services provides a number of ancillary services to schools. This includes comprehensive evaluations, staff training, social work, and psychological and rehabilitation services. All school support services are based on the individual needs of the school.
Service Coordination
The concept of team is fundamental to the Integrated Treatment Strategies™ approach as it focuses on the task of creating a total therapeutic milieu. Each child's case is coordinated by a professional case manager who monitors all services and ensures effective coordination and cooperation among all involved. Case loads are kept low to ensure sufficient time for quality case management.
