So you’ve decided that you really do want to make a difference in a child’s
life. Before CHCS can place a child in your home there are certain requirements
that must be met to ensure the best possible fit for the child and you.
All CHCS Treatment Foster Parents are licensed. However, CHCS
has defined treatment standards and responsibilities beyond the DHHS licensing
standards. To become a Treatment Foster Parent, you must demonstrate the skills,
abilities and willingness to meet the CHCS Treatment Standards. A Foster Home
Developer will meet with you and your family several times to discuss the
expectations and standards for becoming a Treatment Foster Parent.
