Consider Becoming a Foster Parent

So you’ve decided that you really do want to make a difference in a child’s life. Before CHCS can place a child in your home there are certain requirements that must be met to ensure the best possible fit for the child and you.

All CHCS Treatment Foster Parents are licensed.   However, CHCS has defined treatment standards and responsibilities beyond the DHHS licensing standards. To become a Treatment Foster Parent, you must demonstrate the skills, abilities and willingness to meet the CHCS Treatment Standards.  A Foster Home Developer will meet with you and your family several times to discuss the expectations and standards for becoming a Treatment Foster Parent.

The Next Step

In order to proceed with the process, please click the "download an application form" icon above.   Fill in all the required areas and send the form to eburgess@chcs-me.org

Once we receive the form,  you will be contacted by a Treatment Foster Home Developer.  He or she will answer any questions you might have and schedule a meeting to discuss the process with you.
