CHCS Named Business of the Year
CHCS Machias received the Machias Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award.
The Machias Bay Area Chamber of Commerce presented their business of the year award to CHCS Machias. The award is given out each year to the business that meets special criteria. The criteria includes, customer/employee satisfaction, quality services, service to the community, growth and improvement, and overall achievement for the year. Both of these awards show CHCS’s dedication to it’s community, employees and clients.
CHCS Machias met the needs of the community by offering the services to those who are vulnerable within the community. Machias staff deserve the recognition and are truly dedicated to the work that they provide. "I love working for CHCS, it is a good feeling to go home at night and know that I helped someone throughout the day," said Rena Lapointe, Medical Secretary at the Machias office. The chamber asked Rose St. Louis, Assistant Director of Operations, to present the award to staff and she felt honored to do so. The Machias office was the recipient of another award, as well. A Healthy Maine partnership, The Washington County One Community, aknowledges one organization for their commitment to wellness. CHCS was recognized with the Wellness award for encouraging healthy habits and lifestyles for their employees as well as their clients. Staff can often be seen out walking and encourage each other to eat better and make healthy choices. CHCS also works with other organizations to bring healthy topics for discussion in their Wellness groups.
