Our Team

Peter Crovo

Peter works in our Northern Region at our Caribou and Houlton offices. He has 34 years of experience and has worked for CHCS since 1995. He knew from an early age that he wanted to help children. He began his career as a Foster Home Licensing worker at DHHS and then transferred to CHCS at the Foster Home Developer in Aroostook County. Peter’s role models are his parents as they are always helping people in need. When asked about who Peter’s hero is, he says: My hero? Well, all foster parents are my heroes! They make a difference in children despite the sometimes overwhelming challenges, they face on a daily basis. It is not just about caring for children, but working with the foster care system, the legal system, the school system, the mental health system and the medical system. They are simply amazing to me that they would do all this for children who need so much help. I’m in awe at their heart, determination, and dedication to children. It is an honor to work with such great people! I only wish we had more heroes like them!

Jennifer Johnson

Jennifer works in the Down-east region at our Ellsworth and Machias offices. She has 39 years of experience and has worked for CHCS since 1989. Jen is passionate about working with children and adolescents. Jen first started with CHCS in our Bangor office and has since expanded. She enjoys being able to meaningfully engage with children, parents, foster parents, school, and the wider social service system of care. Her interest stemmed from working with children and teenagers during her junior and senior year in high school when she became at Y-Teen Leader at the YMCA. She observed the social and emotional growth of the girls who engaged in the program which lead to her decision on choosing her college major and career.

Stephanie Michaud

Stephanie works in our Southern Region, at our Augusta office. Stephanie has 6 years of work experience and has worked at CHCS since 2016. Steph graduated from University of Maine at Farmington with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She will be pursuing her master’s degree due to her passion in the field. Steph is passionate about advocating for the children in care because she can relate to them in a way that most people can’t. She knows how important for children in care to have as many supports as possible and she is determined to be that for the children and families that she works with.  Her role model in life is her grandmother for her unconditional love and support. She admires her determination to help those around her. Her grandmother always believed that she would succeed, and never gave up on her. Stephanie says, without her unfaltering support, she could have ended up in a very different place in life. Stephanie believes that finding the strengths in people is the most important thing; everyone deserves understanding and someone in their corner.

Angie Richardson

Angie works in the Northern Region of CHCS in our Houlton & Lincoln offices. Angie has 10 years of work experience. Angie is motivated to work in foster care to help others feel better and find their way to happiness. Angie grew up in a poor, rural area and saw many kids hurting. She knew she wanted to help children and families heal during struggle – each child has their own story and each family has their own challenges. Seeing the little successes in children and families such as children being able to express their feelings in works, use a new calming strategy, and overcoming emotional struggles are moments Angie loves to celebrate. Angie’s heroes are her family. Angie met two amazing foster parents who over their 24 years helped over 100 children. Their love, caring, and calm ways helped so many children and inspired Angie. Every child in their home was part of their family, and they treated each one with love and acceptance. Even through the years, the two foster parents stayed connected to each child by supporting them through successes and struggles throughout their life.
