When to Consider Hospice

Hospice care focuses on the care, comfort and quality of life when managing pain and symptoms of a life-limiting disease. Choosing hospice means that you have made a choice to continue living your life to the fullest without undergoing uncomfortable tests or seeking curative care.

The Hospice Team

Your hospice team is a group of specially trained professionals including your primary physician, nurses, social workers and counselors who will help assure that your wishes are honored.

Together, they provide support and teaching for you and your family while working closely with area hospitals, physicians and volunteer agencies to ensure that all aspects of your comfort in are managed appropriately.

Referrals for Hospice care may be made by you, the attending physician, family members, friends, clergy or health professionals.
